Chicken Tenders Cover Roadway

What No Dipping Sauce?

CENTRE, Ala. (AP) — It would seem like a great find: boxes of chicken tenders lying on a public road, free for the taking.

Except that the pickings aren't the kind you'd want to take home.

A sheriff's office in Alabama is warning people against eating chicken tenders that fell out of a truck after an accident.

The tenders were spread across state road 35 in Alabama, spilling boxes of chicken tenders in Cherokee County near the Georgia line.

Motorists began stopping on the road to pick up the food. Not only did that create a traffic hazard. It's also considered a health hazard.

Officials say after spending hours on the ground, the food isn't safe to eat. Those who persist in ignoring the warning were in danger of facing charges.
