Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- The Virginia General Assembly returns to Richmond, sort of, on Wednesday.  The State Senate will be meeting at the Science Museum of Virginia, while the House of Delegates will actually be meeting virtually.

James Madison University Political Science professor Robert Roberts expects Republicans to actually be on offense this session, with an eye towards November's General Assembly and statewide elections.  Roberts expects Republicans to try and tie Democrats to criminal justice reforms and election reforms, to make them appear to be soft on crime and on election security.  He does not expect many big issues to get through because redistricting is not moving fast, leaving lawmakers unsure of who their voters are.

The Governor is scheduled to give his State of the Commonwealth speech Wednesday night at 7pm.
