Chester, VA (1140wrva.com) –  Chesterfield Police have identified two pedestrians who were struck by a train near Chesterfield Village Drive at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.  Presley A. Trent, 13, of the 10800 block of Erin Green Court, and Samuel W. Rivas, 18, of the 13600 block of Quail Hollow Lane, were on the train tracks when they were both fatally struck.

Police say the two were with a group of kids when they were struck by the Palmetto train, which was headed from Savannah to Richmond.  Lieutenant John Miller stresses the accident was 100% avoidable, and that people should not be on train tracks.  No charges are expected.
