Corey Stewart Wins GOP Primary

Will Take On Tim Kaine

Richmond, Va. (1140wrva.com) Corey Stewart, promising a "vicious campaign" has won the Republican Primary to challenge U.S. Senator Tim Kaine in November. The former Trump campaign chairman in Virginia narrowly defeated Delegate Nick Freitas (45% to 43%). E.W. Jackson came in third with about 12% of the vote. 

Former CIA officer Abigail Spanberger easily won the Democratic Primary to take on Republican Congressman Dave Brat in the 7th District. Spanberger got about 73% of the vote to Dan Ward's 27%. She promised a tough campaign against Brat telling her supporters "Democracy is not a spectator sport." 

And Ryan McAdams cruised to an easy win in the 4th District Republican Primary to face off with Democratic Congressman Donald McEachin. McAdam's opponent Shion Fenty got 27% of the vote.
