April 29, 2019 - 4:04 pm

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam, who is slowly returning to a more public schedule, addressed a fundraiser for the United Negro College Fund Monday.  The Governor only spoke for a few minutes, and did not address his recent blackface controversy.  Three months ago, it was revealed the Governor had a racist photo on his 1984 Eastern Virginia Medical School Yearbook page.

Northam did tell the audience that he wants everyone to get a quality education and have opportunities for a good job.  Northam also pointed out that more minorities need to be given opportunities in the science and tchnology fields, which he says are growing in virginia.

The only time Northam came close to addresing the controversy when he said he was looking forward to getting back on his monthly radio show.  He has not appeared on-air since the controversy broke.
