Richmond, VA (WRVA) - Lot of hullabaloo over IHOp becoming IHOb. The restaurant known for pancakes says they flipped the “p” to “b” to emphasis their new burgers. Instead of being the International House of Pancakes they are now calling themselves the International House of Burgers. Dine Brands Global owns IHOp (IHOb) and Applebee's. The company says the name change is only temporary. This action is only a marketing campaign. Dine Brands wants people to think of IHOp (IHOb) as a place to get burgers as well as pancakes. Business has been trailing off in recent years and executives at the company think people need to be reminded that there are lots of food options at IHOp, or IHOb if you will, including their new burgers. The company taking to twitter to state: “Yes, we flipped our name, but don’t worry, we’re still flipping pancakes!; and,” “We promise we burger as good as we pancake!”

Some burger joints hitting back in a cheesy manner:

Whataburger taking to twitter stating; "As much as we love our pancakes, we'd never change our name to Whatapancake."

Fast Food joint Wendy’s not backing down from the burger challenge they tweeted out “Not really afraid of the burgers from a place that decided pancakes were too hard.”
