Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Following a press conference in which Governor Ralph Northam (D) said he was not in the controversial racist photo that appeared on his 1984 yearbook page, but did once wear blackface that same year in a dance competition, the Legislative Black Caucus announced that it still wants Northam to resign.  Speaking after the pres conference, Caucus Chair Lamont Bagby (D-Henrico), said while he believes Northam is a good man, "blackface is blackface," and Northam needs to go.

Bagby would not address would could happen if he does not, saying he hopes it does not come to that circumstance.  But he adds that "all corners of the Commonwealth are crying."

Attorney General Mark Herring (D) has now joined the chorus of people asking the Governor to step aside as well.

Northam says he plans to investigate the photo, to find out why it was on his page.  In regards to the dance competition, Northam says he did blackface to look like Michael Jackson.
