Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Canterbury Rehabilitation now says 39 residents have died as a result of coronavirus.  The total makes the facility in the West End the deadliest hotspot in the country.

Henrico Health District Director Dr. Danny Avula says Canterbury was hampered by the fact it had an early case, during a period of little testing and less knowledge on how easily it spreads.  He says it is likely it spread through people who didn't know they were carrying it.  Avula says the facility did the right things, informing his department immeadiately.  They have also added multiple infectious disease controls "on a dime."

Statewide, the Department of Health reports 109 coronavirus deaths.
