Chesterfield Police Arrest Suspect in Hit-And-Run

(CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va.) -- Chesterfield County police have arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred in the 8700 block of Hull Street Road last week. 

At about 2:42 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 16, police received a report that an adult male was found deceased as the result of the incident. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as 58 year old Dana Roach, just off Hull Street and down an embankment.

The investigation indicates that Roach, of the 8100 block of Wyntrebrooke Court in Chesterfileld County, was struck by a vehicle, when then left the scene of the crash.

Police arrested 31 year old Dale Benson and charged him with felony hit-and-run and driving while revoked in relation to the crash. The investigation indicates that Benson, of Amelia, was driving a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant when he struck Roach and left the scene.
