Chesterfield Police Car Stolen

Recovered After Chase In County

July 16, 2018 - 4:43 pm

Chesterfield, VA (wrva.com) - Chesterfield Police were able to recover a stolen vehicle this afternoon.  It just happens that the vehicle stolen was one of their own.

Chesterfield Police say they went to the McDonalds on Hopkins Road around noon, after receiving a report of someone trying to steal a vehicle.  It was during that call, officers say, that a 19-year old took their car and drove off.  The chase proceeded down both the Chippenham Parkway and Midlothian Turnpike.

Officers eventually were able to stop the car by boxing it in, once the driver lost control and ended up in the median along Midlothian Turnpike.  Charges against the driver are pending.

Police say the young man drove into two cars along the way during the chase, but there were no injuries.
