Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Department of General Services says all permits for Lobby Day, January 18th, have been denied, as the Commonwealth looks to free up resources to deal with potential unrest.  The FBI has said there is the potential for armed protests at State Capitols around the country.

Demonstrations were already going to be limited due to Covid restrictions, and the General Assembly is not even meeting at Captiol Square this year.  Instead, the House of Delegates is meeting online, and the State Senate is meeting at the Science Museum of Virginia,

The permit denials are not likely to impact the Virginia Citizens Defense League, who were planning a car caravan off grounds.  Last year, the VCDL held a huge gun rights rally at the Capitol that took place under heavy security.

The armed protests are rumored to be taking place Sunday
