Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - As Central Virginia continues to go days without any significant rain, the county fire departments have instituted open burn bans.  Burning of yard debris is now banned for the time being in Chesterfield, Henrico, and Hanover Counties.

Recreational fires, such as fire pits and grills, are not banned.  However, firefighters are asking you avoid them because of the fire risk.

Lt. Jason Elmore of Chesterfield Fire says they have seen some small brush fires during this drought, along roadways from people dropping smoking material, or along railroad tracks because of sparks.  Elmore asks people to please be careful.
