Power Outages Could Last Days

Heavy Damage Associated With Michael

October 12, 2018 - 10:48 am

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -  Dominion Energy says it will take multiple days to restore everyone's power following Thursday night's storms associated with Hurricane Michael.  At the peak, over a half-million people lost power in the storm.

Spokesman Rayhan Daudani says the damage came from heavy rains and winds, with trees falling into power lines, and transformers blowing.   He says in some areas, the damage is significant.

Hardest hit areas are in central and eastern Virginia.  However, Daudani says they actually saw damage over a widespread area.

Outside power crews are in Virginia to help.
