Richmond, Va. ( - Former Governor Doug Wilder held a press conference today to announce he had been cleared of the remaining misconduct allegation against him, that he kissed a VCU Student, Sydney Black, without her consent.  However, VCU responded after the press conference to say that the Governor's comments were "premature."

Wilder says he was cleared following a six-hour review panel last week.  Over the summer, he had been cleared of other allegations, but an investigator had found that he kissed Black without her consent.  Wilder appealed that finding.

The allegations date back to actions in 2017.  Black filed her complaint last December.   She also alleged that when she resisted Wilder, funding for her position at the Wilder School at VCU dried up.
