Chesterfield, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police say a man is dead, and a woman seriously injured, after an early morning accident on I-95 South.

Police say a 1997 GMC van driven by  La' Isis Jones, 18, of Richmond, VA. was traveling southbound I-95 when she hydroplaned losing control, hitting the jersey wall, and rested in the left lane.  A 2013 Chevrolet Impala driven by Lydell M. Mosby, 23, of Richmond, VA., was traveling southbound striking Jones head on, forcing her van to flip around, and rest in the right lane.  Witnesses are advising police that a white tractor hauling a red trailer traveling southbound then sideswiped both vehicles and left the scene.

At this time, the Virginia State Police are still attempting to locate the white tractor trailer that sideswiped both vehicles.  The white tractor trailer should have damage and or paint transfer on the right front corner and sides.  It has been determined that no other tractor trailers were involved at this time.

Jones was wearing her seat belt and was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.   Mosby was not wearing a seatbelt.  Unfortunately, Mosby succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
