Midlothian, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - UPDATE:  The National Weather Service has now confirmed five tornadoes.  The additional three are an EF0 in Powhatan, an EF1 in Henrico near Three Chopt Road and Huguenot Road, and an EF1 in Rockville.

ORIGINAL: The National Weather Service, so far, has confirmed two tornadoes with Monday's outbreak, although assessments continue.  The biggest tornado was an EF2, with 120 mph winds, that killed a man in a building collapse at Hull Street Road and Speeks Drive.

The Service has also confirmed a second tornado, an EF1 with 80-85 mph winds, in Hampton Park, which is in far Western Chesterfield along Hull Street Road.

NBC12 Meteorologist Jim Duncan says the Richmond area has not seen an outbreak like this since the tornadoes that followed Hurricane Ivan in 2004.  He says tornadoes are not unusual on the east side of a dying storm, but the number of potential tornadoes we saw Monday was unusual.
