(RICHMOND, Va.) -- There's lots of rain that's forecast to come on Thursdsay and last most of the day.

The area is under a Flood Watch for as much as two inches of rain.

NBC12.com meteorologist Jim Duncan says the rain should start around sunrise and become heavy toward the late morning toward midday. It will finally end by mid to late afternoon.

With a couple inches of rain, Duncan says that's going to cause some issues in areas where there's slow drainage and it could cause some ponding or high water on the roads in those areas.

The rain is associated with a front that will make temperatures a little cooler on Friday.

Duncan says that the severe storm risk is not great with this but he does not rule out the isolated strong storm.
