As James River Expected To Flood

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond has closed two flood gates, a result of the rain received over the past 24 hours. The James River is expected to crest somewhere in the 18-19 feet range on Friday.
Both the Dock Street and Brander Street gates are closed. The Dock Street closure closes Dock from 17th Street to 21st Street. Traffic is being detoured to Cary and Main Streets.
The Brander Street closure impacts the enterance to the Water Treatment Plant and Ancarrow's Landing.
The gates will reopen when the water recedes.
