Richmond, Va. ( - Governor Ralph Northam is not adding additional restrictions to the Commonwealth.  The Governor held a Covid-19 briefing Wednesday afternoon, just days after announcing via video that he was limiting gatherings and increasing mask mandates.

Northam explained his reasoning for the restrictions coming down on Friday, saying the health metrics are worsening, and he was moved by the images of mobile morgues in Texas.  Northam says he did not want to repeat that image here.

Northam did ask Virginians to give deep consideration to their Thanksgiving plans.  He says staying home can be considered an "act of love" this year.  He also says says if you must gather, do so in small gorups, remain socially distant, and wear masks.
