Hampton, VA _  Police in Hampton believe they have found the remains of 2-year-old Noah Tomlin who went missing more than a week ago.

Police Chief Terry Sult says the remains were found at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday at the steam plant that trash from the city's landfill is diverted to.

Sult says police and their law enforcement partners sifted through 1,000 tons of trash in their efforts to find Noah, while tips from investigators informed their search.

Noah's mother Julia Tomlin, 34, was charged Friday with three counts of felony child neglect involving three children, including Noah.  Sult says the Commonwealth's Attorney will decide on further charges following an autopsy.

Julia Tomlin initially told police that she had last seen her son when she put him to bed around 1:00 a.m. Monday, June 24 at their trailer park home at Buckroe Beach in Hampton.  She didn't report him missing until just after 11:30 a.m. that same day.
