Richmond, Va. ( - AAA Mid-Atlantic says travel for the holidays was down at least 25%, and gas demand was at its lowest level in 23 years.   The lower demand lead to gas prices holding steady over a period where they normally rise, as people go to visit family and friends.

Spokesman Morgan Dean says in the short term, they anticipate prices will actually fall as demand drops further with the holidays over.  Longer term, Dean says if travel restrictions are lifted, you may see prices rise.

Richmond's current average for a gallon of gas is $2.13, down 17 cents from the same time a year ago.
