Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -  Henrico Police say a man has died following an officer-involved shooting in Henrico's far West End Thursday night.  Police say they originally went to the home on Strangford Court with Richmond officers to serve an arrest warrant for a February 25th carjacking in the city.  When they arrived, they encountered the suspect, who then ran inside the home.

Lieutenant Matt Pecka says once the officers got to the home, they saw the man stabbing a woman inside.  An officer then fired on the man, stopping the attack, says Pecka.   Both were treated at the scene.  The suspect died as a result of his injuries.  The woman is in critical but stable condition at the hospital.

There was also a three year old in the home but the child was not harmed.  The child is with relatives.  The officer involved is on paid leave during the investigation.

The deceased man has been identified as Mr. Ajay Kamil Ayseli, age 31.
