New Haven, CT. (wrva.com) -  New Haven Police Chief Anthony Campbell says he has sent detectives to Virginia to aid in the investigation into Wednesday's officer-involved shooting in Sussex County.  The suspect killed is believed Tremaine Poole, who was wanted for killing a mother in front of her two young children back in May.

Campbell says his detectives want to know where Poole may have been since May, and who was helping him.   He says the stop has brought the people of New Haven relief.

Campbell says a detail will also be sent for the funeral of the state police dog killed during the incident in Sussex.  He also says it is possible some of the reward money for capturing Poole may be used for the dog's funeral.
