Raleigh, N.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D), saying vacine administration is the top priority, has called up the Tar Heel State's National Guard to help health care providers.
Ensuring COVID-19 vaccines are administered quickly is our top priority right now. We will use all resources and personnel needed. I’ve mobilized the NC National Guard to provide support to local health providers as we continue to increase the pace of vaccinations. - RC

North Carolina is one of many states having trouble getting vaccines out quickly. Virginia is also working at a slow pace, with the Department of Health's own data showing just under 22% of vaccines that the Commonwealth has received have gone into arms. The Health Department actually believes that number is larger than what is being reported, and they blame reporting lags.
Governor Ralph Northam (D) is expected to address vaccines during a Covid briefing Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.
