Richmond, Va. ( - A group of professors, academics, and doctors has sent a letter to Governor Ralph Northam, asking him for tougher restrictions in the fight against coronavirus.  Group advisor Yaneer Bar-Yam says doing so could actually bring Virginia back to normalcy in weeks, as compared to multiple months.

Among what the group is looking for is tighter definitions of what is essential, and moves like limiting supermarket shopping to curbside. Bar-Yam also recommends limiting travel to prevent re-introducing the virus into areas. They also say unusued dorm rooms should be used by family members of positive cases to avoid spread within families.

Bar-Yam says strict measures would allow the virus to be dealt with quicker, which could get the economy up and running quicker.
