RPD ID's Woman Arrested At Dance Competition

Allegedly Had Gun At Huguenot High School

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond Police have identified the woman they say brandished a weapon during a dance competition Saturday evening.  Police went to Huguenot High School Saturday night to break up a fight that followed the end of the competition.

Police say Falan Brown, 36, of the 1000 block of E. Lexington Avenue, High Point, N.C., was arrested for brandishing a handgun at the school. She was charged with simple assault,  brandishing a firearm,  and carrying a firearm on school grounds.

Several people were injured in the fight, one of which had to be taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

Officers also had to sweep the school to make sure no one remained inside.  Richmond Police are asking anyone with phone video of the incident to please contact them.
