Richmond, Va. (wrva.com) - Richmond police are investigating vandalism which occurred early Wednesday morning at the AP Hill Statue.  The statue, which sits at the intersection of Laburnum Avenue and Hermitage Road, is also Hill's gravesite.

Police say someone threw a red paint-like substance on the statue.  If the clean-up costs more than $1,000, the person responsible can be charged with a felony.

Police have been able to narrow the time of the incident down to around shortly after midnight.  The Robert E. Lee statue also had red paint thrown on it earlier this month.  Capitol Police are handling that investigation.
