Richmond Woman Pleads Guilty To Stealing Checks Out Of Mail

Could Face Maximum Of 30 Years In Federal Prison

Richmond, Va. (  - A Richmond woman has pleaded guilty to stealing mail from mailboxes in the Fan District, taking personal checks which she then altered and cashed.  Katina Everett, 45, could face upwards of 30 years in federal prison when she is sentenced October 21st, but the sentence is likely to be less than that amount,  Everett pleaded guilty to bank fraud and aggravated identity theft charges.

According to federal prosecutors, the thefts took place between late 2018 and early 2019.  She has previous fraud and larceny convictions as well.
