Snowy Wednesday Commute Expected

Richmond Could Receive 1-3 Inches Overnight Into Wednesday Morning

February 18, 2019 - 1:19 pm

Richmond, Va. ( -  Students might be looking at school delays or cancellations Wednesday, and drivers may find a messy commute Wednesday morning.  A storm coming in overnight into Wednesday morning could drop one to three inches of snow on Richmond, with additional snow to the north and west.

NBC12 Forecaster Nick Russo says the snow will start around 1am.  It will fall until around 9am, when it changes to sleet, freezing rain, and then eventually, all rain.  Russo anticipates the morning commute to be an issue, and possibly the afternoon one as well.

However, Russo says it should only be a one day event.  Temperatures will actually warm into Wednesday night, meaning there will not be refreezing.  Thursday is also anticipated to be in the 50s.
