Doswell, VA (Newsradio 1140wrva.com) Thousands came out to pay their final respects to a Hanover fireman killed while responding to a crash on I-295 during last week's storm. Hanover Deputy Chief Billy Goldfeder told the audience at memorial service at Meadow Event Park Lt. Brad Clark probably saved the lives of three other firemen when he yelled a warning just before an 18 wheeler slammed into their truck.

At least three firefighters were injured and the truck driver was seriously hurt and had to be cut out of truck cab in the crash Thursday night.

Clark's dad, Bob, a retired battalion chief with Henrico said his son died doing what he loved. "We all know that he would have been devastated had he survived if one of his crew had been killed. We would have lost him either way"

Clark was a 13 year veteran of the Hanover Fire Department, and leaves behind a wife and four daughters. Colleagues from across Virginia and the nation attended the service.
