It's Time For The Richmond Marathon

Put a knot in those shoe strings or strap up the Velcro on your shoes, It’s race day for runners in Richmond. There are 3 races slated to take place this chilly Saturday morning. Here is a list of the races, where they start and when they start:

 

7 a.m. sharp     8k start (8th & Broad St.)

 

7:30 a.m. sharp            Half Marathon start - Wave A (7th & Broad St.)

 

7:45 a.m. sharp            Marathon start (5th & Grace St.)

 

8 a.m. - 3 p.m.             CoStar Post Race Party on Brown's Island

 

11:30 a.m.                   Half Marathon course closes

 

3 p.m.                         Marathon course closes

 

The weather is expected to be chilly but dry; temperatures will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s. The wind will be brisk.

If you are a runner wear layers of clothes. You can shed the excess clothing as you run, volunteers will be picking up the disposed of clothing and donating it to a non- profit charity.

If you are a spectator or volunteer, dress warmly, stomp those feet and cheer wildly that will help encourage the runners and help you stay a little warmer.

 No matter how you participate have fun and help keep Richmond’s Marathon one of the friendliest in the Nation.
