Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - There is a risk for tornadoes this afternoon and evening in Central Virginia, a result of Michael tracking further north than meteorologists expected.  There is a tornado watch until 9pm, with the greatest risk running thorugh five o'clock.

NBC12 meteorologist Andrew Freiden says there is also a risk of strong straight line winds, and heavy rain.  The forecast is that anywhere from three to six inches of rain could fall.  Freiden says the storm should leave Richmond after midnight.

Ten tornadoes tore through Richmond, killing one person, with Hurricane Florence last month.
