Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -  They weren't needed this time, for the roughly one inch that fell on grassy surfaces today, but VDOT says it is ready for snow removal over the next few months.  VDOT has set aside $205 million to use on snow.

The agency determines its snow budget based on the three previous years.  There are also nearly 700,000 tons of salt ready to be placed on the roads.

VDOT also says people will be able to track their plows to see how close they are to their homes.  The plow tracker can be accessed here.
