Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - VDOT says, as of Wednesday afternoon, most subdivision and secondary roads are in "minor" condition.  Minor condition means there may be some ice and snow on the roads, but they are, for the most part, passable.

VDOT Spokesman Bob Speildenner says they have been going over the subdivision streets today, expecially hitting spots they may have missed, such as cul-de-sacs, and roads blocked by parked cars.

Because of the improving road conditions, most of the area schools districts will be open Thursday, albeit on a two-hour delay.  Henrico Schools also announced they will now make February 18th a full day of school , where it had been a half-day.  Chesterfield, however, will remain closed because of road conditions, and the district has cancellled mid-term exams.

Speildenner says they are concerned they may have to deal with flooding this weekend, as snow melts along with forceasted heavy rain.
