SUV Going Wrong-Way In Double Fatal

Accident Closed Hull For Nearly 11 Hours

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield County Police are investigating a double fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Hull Street Road at about 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  The road ended up being closed for 11 hours as a result, right near the Amelia County line.

 Police say a 2012 Jeep Liberty SUV was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Hull Street Rd when it struck a 2007 International Truck head-on that was traveling east. The driver and passenger of the SUV were died at the scene. The driver of the International truck did not sustain any injuries.

At this point, police believe speed and the lack of seatbelt use were factors in this crash and fatalities.  The driver of the truck is not expected to be charged.
