Richmond, VA (WRVA) - The Robert E. Lee statue on Monument Avenue has been vandalized. The incident took place between Friday Night (8/3) & Saturday Morning (8/4).

It appears that a large amount of red paint was thrown on the statue’s base. The letters BLM were also painted in red on that statue’s base.

BLM is a common acronym for “Black Lives Matter.” So far no word on any arrests or charges. The Robert E Lee statue on Monument Avenue is under the watch of the Virginia Division of Capitol Police.
