Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowwrva.com) - A 15-year veteran of the Richmond Police force will face remedial training, discipline, and reassignment to another area of the city, after a confrontation with students outside Albert Hill Middle School March 28th.  In the confrontation, the unnamed officer is heard to yell "just wait until your ***** turn 18, then you're mine."

Interim Richmond Police Chief William Smith apologized for the encounter, and says it does not reflect the values of the Police Department.  He also says it was out of character for the officer, who has had only one complaint in his career.  However, Smith says the punishment will make it clear this will not happen again.  Smith could not detail the punishment because it was a personnel matter.

Smith also says the officer is willing to meet with the kids' families.  The officer is currently on a previously approved leave.  The incident, caught on video, even drew a response from Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney.
