(Richmond, VA - - Politico drops a bombshell article that claims former aides of Virginia Congressman Tom Garrett allege he and his wife have explosive tempers and treated them as personal servants.

Cleaning up after the family dog; chauffering his children; picking up groceries; fetching personal belongings like the congressman's clothing and much more - all while on the clock. Those are just a few of the accusations Politico reports were made to the website by four former congressional staff members of Garrett's. The site says the accusers want to remain anonymous out of fear of retribution.

Politico reports they desribe a deeply dysfunctional and hostile workplace, where employees feared retaliation from the couple and ends to their careers if the didn't fulfill demands made by the Garretts. A spokesman for Garrett says they see no reason to respond. If the allegations are found to be true, Garrett's alleged conduct could raise ethics concerns.
