Unite The Right 2 Permit Request Withdrawn

White Supremacist Kessler Doesn't Want Charlottesville Permit

July 24, 2018 - 4:25 pm

Richmond, VA (WRVA) - UVA Grad Jason Kessler has withdrawn his request for a permit to hold a “Unite The Right 2” rally in the City of Charlottesville over the Weekend of August 11th & 12th.

Kessler was not present when the hearing started. The Judge told Kessler’s lawyers to find their client and then ordered a recess. Over 45 minutes after the trail was supposed to get underway Kessler’s lawyers announced that their client wished to withdraw his request for the permit.

Kessler could still show up in Charlottesville that Weekend with a handful of people. The City’s “regulations for special events and demonstrations on City property” only requires a permit if 50 or more people will be participating.

Kessler’s application for a “White Civil Rights Rally" in Washington D.C. on that same Weekend has already been approved by the National Park Service.
