Officials in Illinois (a sanctuary state) have now revealed that an illegal immigrant accused of killing a father in a hit-and-run had been ordered to be deported six years ago, according to a report from Breitbart.

Jose Rodriguez, 27, immigrated to the U.S. illegally from Honduras and is accused of running a red light in Bloomington, Illinois on June 22, causing him to hit and kill Corey Cottrell, 39, who was riding his motorcycle at the time. Cottrell had two daughters, aged 11 and 14 years old.

Rodriguez reportedly fled the scene of the crash but turned himself in to law enforcement the next day. He was charged with a hit-and-run and driving without a license. However, only days after being charged, he posted bail and was released.

A report from the Prairie State Wire confirmed with ICE that Rodriguez was in the U.S. illegally. The report also found that he had been issued an expedited deportation order in 2013.

According to Breitbart, there are 1.7 million illegal immigrants residing in the U.S. who have already received deportation orders or have pending orders.
