Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) of being racist and "singling out" women of color in remarks made to the Washington Post.

Pelosi has been on record as criticizing Ocasio-Cortez and other democratic socialist members of the party, and recently AOC went after the speaker on Twitter in response to a column in the Independent criticizing her for attacking Pelosi.

According to Breitbart, Pelosi had reportedly called a meeting Wednesday discouraging party members from critiquing each other on social media, but when asked if she regretted publicly criticizing AOC, said regret "is not what I do."

Ocasio-Cortez then spoke to the Post:

"When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm’s distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood. But the persistent singling out . . . it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful . . . the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color."
