Democrat presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell (D-CT) revealed in a speech Monday his desire to ban the individual ownership of more than 200 rounds of any given caliber of ammunition.

He shared this plan to 18 people (no really, it was actually 18 people) who attended his speech near NRA headquarters. Not exactly brilliant location planning.

Swalwell also said he plans to ban bump stocks (which are already banned), high capacity magazines, online ammunition sales and the purchase of more than one handgun per month.

This all coincides with Swalwell's push for a mandatory buyback of all AR-15s, AK-47s and other popular semi-automatic rifles. He added infamously that those who do not comly with his buyback could face jail time.

After receiving push back from Jake Tapper on CNN over this assertion , Swalwell did offer the generous option of allowing gun owners to drop off their guns at a hunting or shooting club and leave them there.
