Democrats Get Caught Pimping More Fake News

Democrats were criticized for pushing a false narrative about the Trump administration detaining migrant children in internment camps. One of whom was Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR):

The camp that Sen. Merkley is referring too, however, is not being reopened by the president. In fact, it's already opened and former President Barack Obama detained migrant children there during his tenure in the Oval Office.

California Rep. Mark Takano (D) also weighed in:

Ironic about Takano's post, though, is that the article he cites includes this disclaimer:

Using military bases in this way is not new. In 2014, the Obama Administration placed around 7,700 migrant children on bases in Texas, California and Oklahoma, including Fort Sill. The temporary shelters were shuttered after four months. Last year, the government evaluated several military bases to shelter migrants, but ultimately decided not to use the facilities.

Maybe these crusaders for justice should check their facts before going all in on trashing the president and his policies. In fact, they should probably make that a rule of thumb.
