Here's Why Schools Are Failing

New York City Public Schools announced that students could skip classes with no penalties to participate in the global youth climate strikes, the New York Times reports.

NYC Public Schools made the announcement on Twitter last Thursday:

According to the Times, this seems to be a test of the strength of the movement by disrupting things and getting the attention of political leaders who will be in NYC for the United Nations Climate Action Summit next week.
