The Democrats' witch hunt against President Donald Trump was pushed to its next phase Wednesday night as the House of Representatives voted to impeach the president.

It is only the third time in U.S. history that a sitting president has been impeached. The votes were taken after hours of debate on the House floor over whether President Trump violated his oath of office. The first article, abuse of power, passed by a vote of 230-197. The second, obstruction of Congress, passed by a 229-198 margin. According to NBC News, Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) voted yes to abuse of power and no to obstruction, creating the one-vote difference.
