Just One More Thing The Anti-American Congresswoman Does Not Understand

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) made the claim that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) did not exist before the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, which is actually false.

Tlaib told the podcast Authentically Detroit, "It needs to be completely dismantled. We didn’t have ICE years ago before 9/11, and I can tell you we were fine."

What Tlaib seems to forget is that in 2003, most of Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (INS) duties were broken down and transferred over to ICE, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as part of the new Department of Homeland Security.

The only thing about ICE that didn't exist before 9/11 was the title. Might want to do your homework next time, Ms. Tlaib.
