A man in Mississippi who claimed he was the victim of a hate crime has now been arrested after police discovered he put together a hoax.

According to The Blaze, Trumaine Foster reported to Southaven, Mississippi police in early February that his vehicles had been vandalized with racist slurs. His pickup truck was found with the N-word spray-painted on it, while his car had the phrase "Leave n*****" and the word "Trump" painted on it.

Foster was arrested by police on Friday and charged with insurance fraud and tampering with evidence.
