Sadly, this is a true story.

The mother of a child with Down syndrome is suing the British National Health Service, claiming the system failed to test her child for the condition before he was born.

Edyta Mordel, 33, said the health system did not perform a prenatal screening for Down syndrome even though she had requested one, according to the Washington Examiner. She also said she would have aborted her son, who is now four years old, if she had know he had the condition.

In London, this case is actually considered a "wrongful birth" claim because Mordel is claiming she would have aborted if she had known of the disability. Mordel is demanding $250,000 in compensation to cover the rising cost of raising her son.
