You'll hear rape accusations called many different things, and most, if not all, the time it will be in a negative context. What you won't (and frankly shouldn't) hear them called is "beautiful." That is, unless you for some reason were watching MSNBC Friday night.

The Last Word host Lawrence O'Donnell was joined by author E. Jean Carroll to talk about her rape allegations against President Trump. After saying the president must be lying about his knowing Carroll, O'Donnell introduced her and said, "It’s odd to use the word beautiful when you're talking about tragedy, but prose in and of itself is often a work of art, and it is in this. But it’s also journalistically very powerful, very precise, very careful, and you described things that way when you described what happened when Donald Trump walked into Bergdorf’s."
