New York is now giving ventilators away to other states as their need for them decreases in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) announced earlier this week that the state would be sending 100 ventilators to New Jersey and 50 to Maryland, saying the situation has now "stabilized."

However, in late March, Cuomo insisted New York needed 30,000 to 40,000 ventilators and demanded the federal government send them right away.

On March 24, an alarmed Cuomo said, "What am I going to do with 400 ventilators? When I need 30,000. You pick the 26,000 people who are going to die because you only sent 400 ventilators."
